The National Bleeding Disorders Foundation (NBDF) is delighted to announce a new accredited education opportunity for health care providers focused on personalized care for individuals with von Willebrand disease (VWD).
“Restoring Control in von Willebrand Disease: Collaborative Approaches for Delivering the Right Treatment for the Right Patient at the Right Time,” is an enduring activity planned and implemented by the PeerView Institute (PVI) for Medical Education and NBDF.
The intended audience are nurses, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and other healthcare professionals involved in the care of people with VWD.
Participants who complete this activity should be better able to:
- Recognize the clinical burden of VWD and its impact on patients' quality of life
- Describe the mechanistic, safety, and efficacy differences among modern VWD therapeutics, including between plasma-derived and recombinant VWF concentrates
- Develop personalized treatment plans for persons with VWD based on disease type, severity, bleeding history, goals of therapy, and patient preferences
- Implement collaborative strategies to facilitate shared decision-making and the coordination of care for persons with VWD
The 30-minute activity, representing an exciting first-time collaboration between PVI and NBDF, was launched late last month and will be available for credit through May 22, 2026.
