Since joining NBDF in 2021, Dr. Norris has created a health access framework to integrate into the foundation’s programs and services, and to develop new programs and initiatives that address disparities in health outcomes within the inheritable bleeding and blood disorders community. Among her many accomplishments is the development of a 10-year roadmap to reduce disparities in health access, with the goals of increasing health care access for all, improving health literacy, improving access to mental health services, and engaging unengaged populations, among others. She has facilitated numerous community roundtable discussions with NBDF chapters to discuss social determinants of health and played a vital role in shaping NBDF’s National Research Blueprint, which calls for the experiences of the affected community to be at the center of blood and bleeding disorders research. Dr. Norris has overseen two health equity summits, a groundbreaking blueprint for health access, chapter trainings and chapter board trainings. She created ERGs for NBDF in 2021 and worked with her team to make remarkable strides within the space of health access and strategic innovation. Notably, she and her team recently rolled out their copyrighted E3 model for addressing health access across various facets of the community. Within NBDF, she has created internal resources and support structures to ensure the sustainability of health access and ensure the foundation accurately represents the community it serves.

Dr. Norris received a PhD in health promotion, education, and behavior at the University of South Carolina, a juris master's degree in health law, policy, and regulation at Emory University School of Law, a graduate certificate in Gender and Women’s Studies from University of South Carolina, and a Master of Public Health degree from Morehouse School of Medicine.  She also holds a certification as a Master Certified Health Education Specialist.
