Language and literacy play a critical role in who understands, trusts, and ultimately participates in research and clinical trials. This session examines how communication practices in research design, recruitment, and consent can either exclude or engage diverse communities. Participants will explore strategies to make research communication more accessible, transparent, and equitable.
Objectives:
1. Identify how language and literacy barriers impact research awareness, trust, and participation, particularly among historically underrepresented communities.
2. Apply inclusive communication strategies to improve understanding, informed consent, and equitable participation in research.
