“Shared Decision Making in the Age of Novel Therapies for Hemophilia.”
This activity will be held live on Thursday, May 5, 2022, from 3:00-4:00 pm EDT / 2:00-3:00 pm CDT / 1:00-2:00 pm MDT / 12:00-1:00 pm PDT
Target Audience:
This live activity is intended for physicians (MD, DO), physician assistants (PA), and nurse practitioners (NP), and others with prescription authority in hemophilia treatment.
Learning Objectives for the live activity include:
- Describe the model of shared decision making and how this approach can benefit clinicians and patients when determining treatment plans and treatment options
- Identify 2 ways clinicians can apply the concept of shared decision making into their discussions with patients about approved novel therapies for hemophilia
- Collaborate within the healthcare team for shared patient-centered and population focused problem-solving for those experiencing bleeding disorders as derived from discussion-based treatment strategies and evidence-based practice

The workshop format will include:
- An overview of the shared decision-making model and how it can benefit patient - provider discussions regarding treatment choices
- Breakout rooms for providers to further discuss the presentations and confidentially interact with their peers on ways of bringing shared decision making into their practice
- Group returning together to summarize findings
- Concluding wrap up discussion of lessons learned
Following the activity, a resource flyer will be developed and shared to support the learnings from the event.
