Kyra Calbero is the executive director of the Hawaii Chapter of the National Bleeding Disorders Foundation, where she oversees all operations, activities, and programs. After becoming diagnosed with a bleeding disorder as a teenager, she soon became involved with her local chapter and joined NBDF’s National Youth Leadership Institute (NYLI), where she gained valuable leadership and advocacy skills. Upon her graduation from Pacific University in June of 2019 with a degree in public health and a minor in disability studies, she worked in Forest Grove, OR as a skills trainer at a school serving teens with severe behavioral disabilities. In July 2020, she returned home to Hawai’i to join the National Hemophilia Foundation Hawai’i Chapter as its program manager. She has been serving as the chapter’s executive director since 2025.
